What to know before Zombie Reddy 2
A spoiler-light briefing so the 2027 sequel makes sense on day one.
Zombie Reddy 2 NXT LVL is not a reset. People Media Factory is mounting a sequel to the 2021 Telugu zombie comedy that made Teja Sajja a lead, and the August 2026 title video is already speaking in the first film’s private language: glasses, improvised weapons, and a hero who treats an outbreak like a game that finally has a higher level. This page is the briefing you want the night before a teaser drop or a 2027 booking.
It is spoiler-light on the sequel because the sequel is not out. It is honest about the original, because pretending Mario has no history is how viewers bounce off the Charminar cricket-bat image and never learn why it is funny.
Confirm you are in the right franchise
Search results mix this title with Roblox zombie games, mobile racers, and random “Zombie 2” lists. Zombie Reddy 2 is a theatrical film from People Media Factory, produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad, aimed at 2027, and planned in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Nepali, and Japanese. If you came here for codes, you want a different site. If you came here because Teja Sajja’s birthday video said “bigger, badder and bloodier,” stay.

Who Mario is, in one paragraph
In the 2021 film Teja Sajja plays Marripalem Obul Reddy, nicknamed Mario, a Hyderabad game designer. He travels to Rayalaseema with friends because a programmer named Kalyan is getting married and the game keeps crashing at high levels. A bite on the road turns a wedding week into Telugu cinema’s first full zombie outbreak. Mario is not a trained slayer. He is a designer who improvises, which is why a cricket bat in front of Charminar in the sequel glimpse reads as a level-up rather than a generic hero pose. For the longer version, open the Teja Sajja page and the plot recap.
What actually changed for part two
Three production facts matter more than rumour threads:
- Director. Prasanth Varma directed the original and remains creator and co-writer. The sequel is directed by Suparn S Varma, known for The Family Man Season 2, Rana Naidu, and Haq. That is a tone shift, not a reboot. Details: production notes.
- Geography. The first film is rooted in Kurnool district faction country. The glimpse plants zombies on a Hyderabad flyover and around Charminar. That matches the original’s own closing tease of city attacks. See locations.
- Cast scale. Shanaya Kapoor makes her Telugu debut. Kannada star Upendra joins in a role the studio has not fully described. The 2021 leads around Mario are not automatically confirmed. Track them on Shanaya Kapoor, Upendra, and the original cast.
Do you need the 2021 film?
You can understand “zombies take Hyderabad” without it. You will miss the joke that the sequel is literally titled like a game patch. You will also miss why Mario’s glasses survived the marketing, why a joystick is the logo, and why fans argue about whether Sailaja, Maggie, and Bhadram return.
Practical path:
- Stream it using how to watch the original. Digital rights sat with aha; the film has also circulated on Prime Video and in a Hindi television window.
- If you only have two hours, watch it once, then read the review to calibrate expectations. It is a messy, funny, mid-budget experiment, not a prestige horror title.
- If you already watched years ago and forgot the ending, use the spoiler-labelled plot recap instead of a full rewatch.
The clip above is aha’s own “best of” package. It is not the sequel. It is a legal way to remember the texture: folk-tinged music, faction rifles, and zombies that still have to share a frame with wedding slapstick.
How to watch the title video without getting fooled
The official glimpse runs backwards. A zombie falls from a flyover onto a truck; a sign reads that zombies are back; the shot then reveals Teja’s car, then Charminar, then the line “This time, next level.” The video also states that no generative AI was used in the making of the film — a marketing claim, not a visual-effects white paper. Do not treat fan edits, Hindi dub uploads, or “full movie 2027” thumbnails as studio material. The links hub lists the People Media Factory channel.
What we still do not know
Upendra’s character name, Shanaya Kapoor’s exact role, whether Anandhi or Daksha Nagarkar return, a locked month inside 2027, and any OTT partner for the sequel. Those blanks are not secrets we are withholding. They are unannounced. When they land, they will be written into Updates, not hidden inside this briefing.
If you remember only four things: Mario is the same designer, Hyderabad is the new map, Suparn S Varma is the new director, and 2027 is the year — not a made-up street date.
Frequently Asked Questions
