Zombie Reddy 2 Production

Zombie Reddy 2 is a sequel with a swapped captain. Prasanth Varma still owns the world. He is not calling “action” this time. People Media Factory, the banner behind Teja Sajja’s Mirai, is spending like the first film’s ₹4 crore experiment never happened. If you want to understand why the glimpse looks like a city commercial instead of a village night, start with the credits, not with a theory about the cricket bat.

This page is a production dossier. Cast lives on the cast hub. Dates live on release date. The moving image lives on title announcement.

Director and creator

Suparn S Varma directs. His public calling cards are The Family Man Season 2, Netflix’s Rana Naidu, and the 2025–26 social drama Haq. He is not a Telugu mass specialist. That is the point. The sequel wants control, geography, and a camera that can hold Charminar without turning into a tourist ad. Hollywood Reporter India framed the title video as his Telugu-feature step after Haq.

Prasanth Varma created the original, directed it, and returns as creator and co-writer. He is also the director of Hanu-Man, the film that changed Teja’s career. Keeping him in the writers’ room is how Mario’s joke survives a new staging. Losing him in the director’s chair is how the film is allowed to stop being a 2021 pastiche of itself.

An older 2025 report still said Prasanth would direct the PMF film. That information is superseded. If you find it in a sidebar, it is stale. This wiki follows the August 2026 credits.

TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad produce for People Media Factory. The same house mounted Mirai. Variety quotes Vishwa Prasad on “next level” actors, director, technicians, and music, with stakes “dead or alive” and a 2027 audience. That is marketing language, but it is also a budget posture. Apple Trees Studios made the first film. PMF is making the second. Do not mix the logos.

Chief executive producer: Sujith Kumar Kolli. Creative producer: Anil Anand. Those names matter if you are tracking wrap reports later; they do not change the public pitch today.

Script, camera, sound

Writers: Hussain Dalal, Abbas Dalal, Prasanth Varma, Suparn S Varma. Dialogues listed as Subbu K in the YouTube credit block. Dalal’s Hindi-film comedy-crime voice is a clue that the Hindi version is not an afterthought dub. The release date page lists Hindi first among some trade recaps for a reason.

Music: Gowra Hari, who scored Hanu-Man and Mirai for Teja. The title video’s folk-plus-rap bed is already his department, with Naagavva and VSHN credited on the glimpse song. Mark K. Robin’s 2021 soundtrack stays in the original. Do not expect “GO Corona” to reprise unless someone prints it.

Cinematography: Abhinandan Ramanujam. Production design: Banglan. Editing: Vijay Velukutty. Costumes: Lanka Santoshi. Together they are the reason the Charminar swarm can look expensive even in a 90-second reverse cut. Locations for that look are unpacked on the locations page.

Shoot status

THR India reported on 2 July 2026 that cameras had already rolled in Hyderabad and that Shanaya Kapoor would join shortly as female lead. That is the last solid status line we have as of the title drop six weeks later. “In production” on IMDb agrees. There is no public wrap date. There is no official schedule of remaining patches. Anyone posting a full shooting tree is ahead of the studio.

The glimpse’s “no AI used in the making” card is a 2026 production talking point. Take it as a claim about the title video and the film’s advertised process, not as a complete VFX vendor list.

What this means for viewers

A new director plus a bigger banner plus city locations is why what to know before watching tells you the sequel will not feel like a cheap copy of the wedding movie. It might be funnier. It might be colder. It might spend its comedy on Upendra instead of the 2021 uncles. Production cannot answer tone in advance. It can tell you the people who will decide tone.

When a wrap, a song release, or a motion poster hits, this page will gain a dated note at the top. Until then, the crew list from the People Media Factory video is the canonical sheet. Cross-check it on Links rather than on a wiki clone that still lists Prasanth as director.
